Child Labor 1800s to Early 1900s

Ethical Question:  Many children were forced to work at a young age in the 1800s to the early 1900s instead of going to school. Was this the right thing to do to them? Was it the wrong thing to do?

I strongly feel that making children work at a young age rather than going to school was very wrong. Some children as young as 8 worked for 12 hour shifts in mines and factories. They worked in very pour conditions for awfully low wages. There was no health or safety standards and children were abused. Children were used to fit in small places were adults couldn't fit. Children were easier to manage and children could be paid less than adults so many people wanted children to work for them.


         These working conditions were not safe at all for adults let alone kids. Kids should of never been forced to work instead of go to school. These working conditions were very unsafe and in some conditions it lead to childeren getting pretty hurt or even dying. Children are supposed to go to school to learn things as young children should all around the world no matter what because they should have the right to. Child labour over all was not right and still isn't right. Child labour should be put to an end because children are just as important as anyone else and should never be forced to work instead of go to school.
